Tom listened once more to V's words. He understood his view on the full name thing, but about the fear... Not like he didn't believe it. Of course, Tom lived in fear every hellish day, but... to really think about it actually almost hurt. He just nodded in response to V, having a sinking feeling in his gut. He had to find Kate. All it was lately was 'where is Kate?' 'is she okay?' 'what if she's dead?'. "Mr. Oxford..." Tom spoke hoarsely, and looked V in the eyes. "I wish to join Chironine." He gulped and then waited for his new master's answer.

V stared at Tom for quite a long while before saying, "You've made the right choice, Thomas. But first thing's first... could you address me as V, please? Mr. Oxford was my father, and I feel uncomfortable being addressed as such." He reached into his coat pocket and pulled out a folded piece of paper. He unfolded it, and spread it over the wall. "This is a map of the building," said V, holding it up the corner with his chopsticks. "It is divided into five parts: the first, second, third floor, and fourth floor. There are fifty dorms per floor, except there are only twenty on the first floor. Each room is equipped with one bed, one chair, and bathroom with a bathtub. If you succeed through the initiation process, I will be giving you room number 316." He gave Tom the map and then pulled a book out of his other coat pocket. V handed the book to him and said, "This is the rule book of Chironine, as titled." The cover of the book showed a picture of V pointing in the direction of the reader with his chopsticks and with big red letters above reading 'RULES OF CHIRONINE.' Then below were the words 'Read it and WEEP.' Then below those words was 'Over five hundred rules written by yours truly.' "To become a part of Chironine," said V, "you must learn all the rules. Read the book and we'll begin your initiation afterward, if you are willing." V turned around and walked the opposite direction.

Tom looked appalled. "Oh, okay... V," He took the book and map, putting the map into his back pocket and then immediately flipped open the Rule book. He walked behind V, not sure if he wanted him to wait, but first, he had to ask. "V, um... do I have to memorize every one?" He wasn't complaining or whining, he was just wondering if this was a must. For, he could hardly memorize a paragraph for a school essay in one hour. 1) RESPECT Tom just nodded. Yeah, he got that... 2) RESPECT... SERIOUSLY. 3) THE ~Golden~ RULE Tom continued to browse before V answered him.

((Be sure to include: Follow the rules. Then the next rule: Follow the rule that tells you to follow the rules.)) V emitted a brief, but rather high, giggle. "No, Thomas," he said in a humored voice, "that is not required of you. If that were the case, there would be a lot less members and most of the ones would still be pending." He stopped walking after seeing that Tom was still following. He turned around and said, "Get back to me when you're finished with the book. You'll probably find me wandering the corridors." He strolled off once again.
Kate felt as if she was on autopilot. She was there, but not exactly conscious. Sophie, Denise, and her had been browsing around the china store for about an hour, but it only felt several minutes to her. She responded to the womans' questions or comments, but not with any real detail. She was still thinking of her plan. How would she get to the school Wednesday night? Perhaps Alan could give me a ride there... Kate knew what terrible a thing would occur there. She hoped she wouldn't get Alan involved, or even killed. But it must go as planned. No matter what. After the excessive shopping, the women returned to the car and got some cappuccinos to go. The only other action Kate was doing besides thinking was petting Rescue. She had always been a dog-lover, except toward the dogs that resembled wolves, like the Siberian husky. Although she knew that they were just like any other dog, she couldn't look at them the same way because of their appearance.

Tom just nodded and smirked at V. He continued reading the pages, catching a few that made him chuckle. 4)Follow the rules 5)Follow the rule that tells you to follow the rules And so Tom read on and on, just standing in the hallway. Before he knew it, he had lost track and had gotten up to Rule #325 when he looked up. The corridor was empty, but he figured V hadn't been lying when he had said he'd be around.
After about 20 more minutes and mental noting, Tom traveled the way down the corridor after V.

((This is the song that V is singing. Little Smirk by Theory of a Deadman))Not long after Tom began searching for V again, he was able to hear the words: "If heaven is a place where the angels go, well then, I've got a story to tell. If heaven is a place where the angels go, then I know I'm going straight to hell!" When V came into Tom's sight, he was banging his head, kicking the air, making angry hand gestures while singing, "I locked you out, left you naked in the front yard. Burned all of your clothes; having nothing can be really hard. Now I'm on the run. I'd do it all again.... so catch me if you can!" V kicked himself off the wall and began doing air guitar. "'Cause I took your car with the baby in the backseat. Wrecked your credit card; your in debt to a deadbeat." He repeatedly forward and backward, shaking his hands. "Maybe now you know how much it hurt when I caught you in the act wearing nothing but a little smirk!"

[[*snorts with laughter*]]
Tom stopped abruptly when V came towards him. His ears had heard it before his eyes had seen it. But what his ears were telling him didn't make him believe any better than what his eyes were telling him. He blinked rapidly, trying to clear his mind. "You, really like music, don't you V?" He asked, smiling. He tapped the book with one finger. "Finished. It's... interesting," He looked down at it and at the binding. When he looked back up, he had a smirk on his face. "It's nice of you to invite me into your.... organization." He tipped his head respectively. "I thank you, V. But... I guess I have to pass the initiation first? Unless... Well, what do I have to do for the initiation anyway?" He asked.

V pulled down his earphones and looked at Tom with a straight face. "Yes, Thomas," he said with vacant emotion. "I adore music, all types. Especially the ones I can rock out to." There came a glimpse of a smile on his face before it returning to a serious expression. "I don't give out any information about what happens during one's initiation to the one being initiated." V beckoned him with his index finger and walked in the opposite direction. After walking through several corridors, V finally opened up a door to a room. The room turned out to be the arena, evidently from the bleachers surrounded the large, oval area. V walked forward to a platform flanked by the bleachers. There was a desk equipped with a chair and a telecom on the platform. V pressed the button on the telecom and said through it, "All members to the arena room. Arena room, all members." He released the button and lead Tom down the bleachers to the entrance of the arena. V turned to him and said, "It won't be long before they flock here."
"Would you mind if we went to the bar?" asked Sophie. "I just need to speak with my fiance." Kate shook her head, and said, "No, that's fine. I don't mind." "Okay, I just wanted to be sure." The car eased into a parking lot. Sophie's fiance's bar, Kate presumed, from the name on it: Chucker's. Once the three women came into the bar, someone yelled, "Hide, Chuck! Bridezilla's here!" Sophie strutted toward the man and said, "Hiding ain't gonna do no good for him. I can smell his fear." The guy laughed and replied, "Then I am just reeking, ain't I?" Another man popped up behind the counter and wrapped his arms around Sophie. She made an overdramatic squeal and playfully slapped his mouth before giving it a kiss. Evidently, that man was Chuck. "Hey, Chelsea," said a man behind Kate. She looked behind and saw Alan smiling at her. She gave him a sheepish smile and said, "Hi." As they seated themselves at the bar, Alan said, "I have no more appointments for the rest of the evening. I see that the girls picked you up. What you all do?" "Shopping," drawled Denise, ordering a drink. The man who addressed Sophie as 'Bridezilla' spoke up, "I hope they didn't bore you too much." Denise scoffed and retorted, "Like you could show the girl a good time, Dan. You have a welcome mat that says 'Please Come Back With A Warrant.'" "Hey, hey," said Dan in an overly emotional voice. "That was my father's mat, and his father's mat, and his father's mother-in-law's mat." "A symbolical hand-me-down representing Dan's heroin-making ancestry," said Chuck, handing Denise her drink. Dan pointed at Chuck and said, "Don't you be acting all smug, fucking hypocrite. You're my number-one customer." "A little bit too late to mention that to Sophie now, don't you think?" said Alan, raising his eyebrows to Dan. Dan snapped his fingers and cussed. "Where's a 'Men In Black' memory flasher when you need one?" he muttered to himself. Kate almost found herself laughing at their jokes. These people were so normal and happy. It would be so nice to be one of them for a change.

Tom followed V until they reached the arena. Well, at first, Tom didn't even think it was one, but once he really looked around, he gulped. "An arena, sir?" He asked V, gulping slightly. "You mean I have to fight right away?" He looked around, almost afraid. "They come here? To watch? Or do I have to fight all of them?" His eyes widened at that. He would die in a second against all of V's clan.

Placing his hand on Tom's head, V made a low, throaty laugh and said, "Oh, Thomas, you and your wild conclusions. But did I not say that I do not release information to the initiates? Rule 57: Do not ask V to repeat himself. Take heed to each and every word that leaves his mouth and sear it into your brain. Or he will poke you in the eye." V sighed. "Of course, I cannot do it now, because you are not yet a member." He stared at Tom for a few seconds and thrust his chopsticks toward Tom, nearing hitting him in the eye. "Haha, made you blink." V looked over Tom's shoulder to see his members bustling through the doorway. "Double single file!" he shouted. "One to the left and one to the right." The members hurried to oblige to V's command. The two of them stood there until no other member had entered the arena for five minutes. After this period of time, V approached the telecom and said, "Greetings, members of Chironine." "Greetings, V," every single member said in unison. "We are gathered here today to bestow a very significant and powerful role on this man here." V indicated Tom and said, "Thomas Anderson. Greetings, Thomas." "Greetings, Thomas," every single member said in unison. V took the telecom off of the desk and began walking toward the entrance to the arena. "Please, follow me, Thomas." He walked out into the arena and gave Tom the intercom. "Press the button and then talk into the speaker," he murmured to him. V turned away from Tom and toward the audience. "Thomas Anderson," he said in a booming voice, loud enough for the audience to hear, "Chironine is grateful that you have chosen to side with us rather than with enemies. There's one thing that we all wan to know about you Thomas. One question we are itching to ask. I will ask it." V faced Tom, his eyes nearly pure white from the bright lights emitted from above. "Why are you here? Why do you wish to join Chironine?"
"Mommy's here! Momma's back!" cried a pair of two little girls rushing out of the arcade section of the bar. Sophie crouched down to embrace the two girls and cried, "My little dumplings!" "What took you so long, mum?" said the littlest one. She had a strong English accent. "We have been waiting forever..." "Sorry, dear," said Sophie, stroking the girl's blond curls. "Momma had to do some shopping for the wedding." "Oh, mummy, haven't you shopped enough?" said the older one. She had an Australian accent. "It's been ages since we've spent some time with you..." Alan peeked behind Kate and said, "Well that's what you have me for." "Uncle!" both of the girls cried, scampering over to Alan. They swooned him with hugs and kisses. Alan laughed and said, "Hey, Megan, have you gotten shorter?" "No way in Sydney!" she cried, jumping up on her toes. "I don't know. I think Cora is going to outgrow you." Cora bit her tongue and shook with giggles. She looked over at Kate and said, "How do you do? My name is Cora." "I'm... Chelsea," said Kate, almost forgetting her alias. Cora smiled and said, "Pleasure meeting you." Megan stepped forward and said, "Howdy, Chelsea, I'm Megan." Kate smiled at her as well. "Hey, mum," said Megan, walking over to Sophie. "Can I have a juice?" "Me too," chirped Cora. Alan raised his hand and said, "Now, your mommy and daddy have been spending a lot of money lately. I'll pay for the juices." Sophie smiled and said, "Thanks, Alan." "No problem," he replied, handing Chuck the money.

Tom cringed gently at V's hand on his head. He was about to apologize over and over when he jumped back at V's joke. He had a wild look on his face, which was pale from the worry. He jumped yet again when he heard thumps and the door behind him being opened. He turned around and watched in awe at all them members pile in and single file two doubles. He blinked as they recited V's words, and blushed and slightly waved when they greeted him. But when V handed him the telecom, he looked appalled and was about to say, 'What?', when the question came: "Why are you here? Why do you wish to join Chironine?"
Tom stared at the group for quite some time before answering. He didn't want to sound stupid, but he knew his answer might be cheesy, but he was serious about this. All he thought was Kate, and a cold, tightening chain seemed to cross over his heart and pull. He felt so lonely at this moment, he forgot that he was standing in front of a whole clan. "Ahem," he cleared his throat. "I am here for my loved ones. I wish to get stronger so I can protect them. That's all I've ever wanted. I wish to be... in control." He swallowed. Maybe also, if they could teach him to be in control, maybe he'd stand a chance with Kate.... Tom's eyes dimmed.

V stared at Tom for a while before saying, "Hm." He turned to the audience and asked, "You think that's good enough? Should we squeeze some more out? Nah, he's alright." He faced Tom again and asked, "Thomas, would you do me a favor? Could you recite any of the Bible verses of Ezekiel 25:17?" ((Don't actually post the passage. Just think whether Tom would even know.)) After a while a waiting, V took the telecom into his own hands and then bashed it against Tom's head. He looked down at Tom's face and said, "Oh, I'm sorry. Did I interrupt your thinking?" A smile flashed across his face and he raised the telecom into his face again. After throwing aside the broken object, he grabbed Tom's chin and looked at his blood-gushing nose. "Ooh, that looks painful," he murmured, and smirked. He grabbed Tom's face and threw him against the ground.

Tom thought. He didn't read much of the Bible, but he felt stupid for not answering right away. Suddenly, his head throbbed with a shot of pain and Tom found himself on his back. He looked up, total terror and shock on his face. He felt something hot trail down the side of his cheek, but before he could sum it all up, V smashed the telecom into his face once more. His nose crushed under the blow, and he actually cried out. He grunted as V lifted him by his chin and then glared into the guy's cold eyes. Once again, he found himself on the ground. He blinked some blood out of his eye, smelling the evil familiar smell. His nostrils flared, which just made breathing painful and he winced, glaring up at V. I knew it... Tom thought. This was just a trap... dammit! He got up then let out his fury. "What was that for?!" His face turned red from his wrath, and he felt a tug at his stomach... meaning the wolf was itching to be let out.

V approached Tom sprawled on the ground, with a rather displeased expression to his question. "If you do not already know," he said bitterly, "then you are not ready to be told." He skewed off his course toward Tom and began to circle him slowly, staring back at his glowering face. He halted his foot in mid-step and shifted it to point at Tom. V arched his back to put his face in line with Tom's, saying, "Why are you still on the ground? Get up, for I do not waste my time with people who lay around and do nothing." After waiting a moment, he thrust his foot into Tom's side and shouted, "You're embarrassing yourself, Thomas. Be a man and get up!"
"I got some.. flowers from my mother to-yesterday," slurred Denise with a drunken smile on her face. "They came and then they went..." She wheezed on laughter and Dan doubled over. As everyone talked, Kate spent most of her time with Megan and Cora. They swooned over the arcade part of the bar, especially the toy grabber. Kate tried three times before she could get something, which was a baseball. "Oh, buggah!" said Cora. "Perhaps I could give this to my dear William." "I was never really good at this game," said Kate sheepishly. Megan leaped into the air and said, "Alan's a dux player. I'll fetch the bloke." She ran over to the bar table and returned with Alan a few seconds later. "What is it, my ladies?" he asked. Cora pulled at his shirt and said, "Would you please get us some toys?" He smiled and asked, "Well, what would you like?" "Let's have a captain's cook," said Megan, looking over at the various toys stacked upon each other. "I think I would like that Betty Boop right o'er there, if you have enough moolah for the challenge." "I want the ginger doll!" said Cora. Alan grinned again and said, "I'll take a snap at it." As soon as Alan began to play the game, the song I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor began to play. "Oh God, save us all," murmured Alan with a sarcastic despaired look on his face. Kate turned her head and saw Denise dancing solo and mouthing the lyrics. She swung her hips and shook her arms while twirling around. She then ran over to Dan and pulled him off the bar stool and brought him out with her. The two did familiar jazz moves like the disco dance, and Dan did the moonwalk and the leg hold, where he held the back of his heel and with the other hand the back of his head and shifted them toward each other while rotating. "Oh, I adore this song!" said Cora. "Alan, will you dance with me?" He put his finger to his chin and cooed, "I don't know..." She shook her head and pulled him out beside Dan and Denise. Megan looked over at Kate and pouted. Kate smiled and nodded, only because she didn't want to disappoint the girl. She squealed and then danced toward the floor with Kate beside her. Cora had quite impressive dance moves, so Alan had to be quick to follow along with her. Kate and Megan just pulled at each others hands and did other partner dances. Kate could not remember the last time where she had danced, for she was quite embarrassed due to her lack of moves. But dancing with the drunken Denise and Dan, stylish Cora and bold Alan, and with casual Megan was actually enjoyable because it was goofy dancing. Several other people joined into the dance party and others watched, entertained. There was no impressing anyone, but just having a good time. Kate laughed as Dan attempted break dancing, but only managed to trip Denise. It was really fun. ((Quite a contrast here from there, isn't there?))

((Sadly, yes... I just wish Tom was there too... )) Tom gawked at V before rising to his feet, holding his side from the blow, his nostrils flaring with rage. He bunched his fists and looked towards the exit. He wanted to run but there were too many people around. Not to mention most were vampires and werewolves. He closed his eyes and tried to concentrate, but he knew V would attack again, so he lundged. He aimed for V's stomach, then kicked out at his knee. He was useless, for he knew V had a lot more training than he. Tom knew he was doomed. Unless, the wolf came out. "Number 54: Never change wolf on the premises; death will follow quickly." Tom whispered under his breath just as he felt a jolt of adrenaline corse through his veins. He did a round house, aiming for V's side.
